Biography:
Megumi Ed
From Nagano, Japan, Megumi has danced with the Matsuyama ballet (Tokyo), the Hamburg Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, and the Rambert DanceCompany in London. She danced all the major classical ballets and worked as well with major choreographers, such as John Neumeier, Mats Ek, Christopher Bruce, Jiri Kylian, Lindsey Kemp, William Forsythe, Hans van Manen and others. In 2004 she moved to NY to join Armitage Gone! Dance and the same year received a Bessie Award for her performance. Now, as a freelance artist, she has begun to incorporate other art forms including sculpture, video and graphics into her installations and performances.
Kensaku Shinohar
Born in Sapporo, Japan, Shinohara started dancing and creating his own work while studying anthropology at International Christian University. He moved to NYC in 2009 and has collaborated with
artists such as Daria Faïn, Giada Ferrone, Yoshiko Chuma, Tiffany Mills, Jennifer Muller and others. He has presented his works at numerous venues, and the works have been described as “A spirited and fun take on urban experience,'' (Art Values Education) “Sophisticated structure” (New

Haruka Tamur
From Tokyo, Japan attended the Boston Ballet School’s summer program and graduated from The Hartt School (BFA 2014), under the direction of Stephen Pier.
Some of her most notable roles include the lead in “Paquita”, Martha Graham’s “Dark Meadow Suite: They Who Dance Together” in Peggy Lyman-Hayes’ 2011 revision, the lead dancer in “The King and I” at The Muny in St Louis, plus contemporary works by choreographers such as Helen Pickett, Emory Lecrone, Viktor Plotnikov and Charlotte Griffin. Ms Tamura is a Dizzy Feet Foundation Scholarship Recipient (2011-2012).
Masumi Kishimoto
Masumi Kishimoto, a native of Tokyo, Japan who studied modern dance in Japan and US. She also studied mime under the direction of Gregg Goldston and she was featured a member of Goldston Mime Company. She has performed outside New York in the US and in Germany and Japan with individual choreographers and companies such as Human Kinetics Movement Arts, a core-dance arts. She has been a member of Racoco /Rx and became a principal dancer in 2012. Masumi was the movement designer for "Crane Story" which presented by The Playwrights Realm at the Cherry Lane Theater in 2011.
Daisuke Omiya
Born in Gifu, Japan, Daisuke Omiya started his tap dancing when he was 16 years old. After graduating from high school he moved from his home town in Japan to New York City
Daisuke has presented work for E-MOVES series at The Harlem Stage Gatehouse, and has been selected by Italian International Dance Festival 2013 for ''AJD Emerging Choreograher winner 2013'' where he was privileged to present his solo work. Currently He is faculty member of Peridance Capezio Center for their Certificate Program 2014.
Satoshi Haga
Satoshi Haga has been collaborated with Rie Fukuzawa as binbinFactory since 2010 and presented by numerous venues. They are recipients of a Swing Space Residency from Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, a resident artists at Union Street Dance /Eva Dean Dance with Mertz Gilmore Creative Grant and FABnyc with The Standard High Line Hotel for development of their latest project relating to Japan’s recent nuclear plant disaster.
Yoshito Sakura
Abarukas was founded in 2009 by Yoshito Sakuraba. He’s shown his works at Baruch College, Marymount Manhattan College, John Ryan Theater, Secret Theater, Here Arts Center, Dixon Place and Manhattan Movement and Arts Center. After a 2-year break between 2010-2012, Abarukas returned in 2013 with artists whose credits include Pilobolus, Australian Dance Theater, and Cirque du Soleil. After the company’s 1st Season in NYC in August 2013, BWW writes, "a true work of art…extreme creativity, fine detail, and high level dancing.” Abarukas is invited by Jacob’s Pillow this summer to present the extended version of ‘The Master’.
Takehiro Ueyama
Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Takehiro Ueyama moved to the United States in 1991 to study dance at the Juilliard School in NYC. Upon graduation, he was invited to join the Paul Taylor Dance Company, touring the world with them for 8 years. In 2003 Ueyama debuted his first choreographic work, Tsubasa, and in 2005 founded TAKE Dance. He has performed repeatedly as a guest artist with Kazuko Hirabayashi Dance Theatre. During 2013-2014 Ueyama will create commissioned works for PS21 in Chatham, NY, ArcDanz in Mexico, The Juilliard New Dances: Edition 2013, The Hartt School, The Roger Williams University and Adelphi University.
Senri Oe (Jazz Pianist, Compose)
The bestselling SONY Music recording artist, Oe has been active and influential in Japanese music scene as a lyricist, composer and arranger since he debuted in 1983. In 2008, Oe decided to pause his career in popular music to pursue jazz and moved to New York. A graduate of the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Oe has released 2 albums, “Boys Mature Slow (2012) and Spooky Hotel (2013), and is now appearing at jazz clubs throughout NYC. In 2012 and 2013, Oe performed at Tokyo Jazz Festival with special guest artists such as Sheila Jordan and Matt Dusk.
